Residents are responsible for confirming whether restrictions are in effect before starting an outdoor fire.
Outdoor Burning
Before burning grass, brush, branches or other permitted materials:
- Check for current fire bans or restrictions
- Confirm whether municipal authorization is required
- Monitor weather and wind conditions
- Keep water and fire-control equipment nearby
- Maintain supervision until the fire is fully extinguished
- Avoid burning near roads, buildings, utilities or neighbouring property
- Before your burn call and report it to the controlled burn line: 1-866-404-4911
Never leave an outdoor fire unattended.
